Installing and Managing Banner Ads on your Joomla Website
Putting up banner ads on your website is a great way of earning extra revenue. You can add, remove and edit these banner ads easily on your website. Here are a few tips on how to install and manage banner ads on your Joomla website:

Installing Banner Ads:
  1. Find a client who is looking for ad space and obtain a banner ad from him. Make sure the file you receive is in a .jpg or .gif format. Now, log on to your Joomla website administrator panel and click “Site” on the main menu. Click on “Media Manager” in the drop down box that appears.

  2. Click on the “Directory” tab in the Media Manager section and then select “Banners” from the drop down box. Click on the “Browse” tab and then select the ad. Open it to upload the file and then click on “Components” and then “Banners”. You next step should be to “Manage Clients”.

  3. Create a new client by clicking on “New” and then fill out the client information along with the desired time period and the number of clicks.

  4. You can display these banner ads by clicking on “Components and then on “Banners” and moving over to “Manage Banners”. Click on “New” and then enter the title of the ad and select the client and enter his or her web address.

  5. Check the “Published” column and make sure that it is checked instead of marked with an “X”.
Managing Banner Ads:
  1. Click on the “Components” section in the main menu and move to “Banners” and then “Manage Banners”.

  2. Remove the banner ad by checking the box. You can stop displaying it by clicking on the “Unpublish” icon. You can remove it by deleting it.

  3. Add the ad by clicking on the “New” icon and entering the relevant information. Choose the appropriate ad file and save it.

  4. You can then add or remove clients by going to the “Components” link on the main menu. Now, click on “Banners” and then proceed to “Manage Clients”.
