How to Embed Google Maps onto your Joomla Page
Using a map on your website is a great way to show your visitors where you are located – whether as a business address, or whether you want to show them the location of a restaurant. Once your visitors have a visual clue of the location of a place, it’ll make it easier for them to find it than simply giving them an address. The more likely visitors are to remember where you are located, the more likely are they to visit.

Google Maps is a great way to embed a map onto your web page. There are two ways that you can do this manually, namely:
  1. Start by visiting the Google Maps website at – maps.google.com – and search for a business or address. Once you find it, click on the link in the top right hand toolbar. You’ll get two options, either to paste the link in an email or IM, or to paste the HTML or embed it on to your site. In the second option, there will be a text field to copy the HTML code. Copy everything and paste to an article.

  2. Go to the Google Maps website again and find the location that you want to use. Click on the link in the top right toolbar and then click on the “Customize and Preview embedded map” link. A new page will open up and you will be able to customize the size and exact location in the map. You can even drag the map around to highlight or show exactly what you want to be noticed. Once your map is how you want it to be, copy the HTML code right at the bottom of the page.
Once you copy the code, you’ll need to paste it somewhere safe. You could either drop in the Contact page.
