Tips on adding Articles in the Joomla 1.5
Joomla is a great CMS that is used by websites across the globe. It is used to manage all sorts of content on any kind of website. Being a free utility, it allows people to add, edit, remove, reorganize and even syndicate content. The best part of it all is that Joomla allows bloggers and web owners to do this even without having any HTML knowledge.

Joomla makes it very easy to add articles to a website, but as far as Joomla 1.5 goes, the process is slightly different than all the other versions. Here are a few steps on how to add articles to the Joomla 1.5 version CMS:
  1. Start by logging into the admin control panel and enter your username and password.

  2. Find the “Add Article” button. In the older versions, there were buttons for selecting Static or Dynamic content. But in the 1.5 version, all of this is more streamlined and there is only a button titles “Add Article”. Clicking on this button will take you to the article composition screen.

  3. Once you reach this screen, enter your articles title at the top. There is also another space for an alternative title. This is however, optional and will not be seen on your website, but it helps by refining the search results. There are two pull down menus that you should use to select the category and section that the article belongs to.

  4. Next, type in the introduction to your article, which will be displayed along with a “Read More” button that will take visitors to the full article. Keep your intro short like a summary.

  5. Once you are done entering the text, click on the “Read More” button and you will see a red line appear under your intro. This is where the “Read More” gets cut off.

  6. Write all the remaining text under this line. This is the main body of the article, which visitors can view after clicking on the “Read More” button.

  7. On the right hand side of the screen, you have to fill in the author information. You could either be a registered member or type in an author’s name.

  8. Type in your metatags in the Metadata Information box. Here you can give a description of your article and place a list of keyword tags. This helps improve search engine rankings.

  9. Once you save these changes, your article will be published!
